Setting up Maps in GoBright
There are two key steps to setting up and deploying maps within the GoBright platform:
- Configuring a map
- Assigning a map to a specific floor/zone
Configuring a map
N.B – It is advised to create all locations (e.g. floors), desks and rooms before configuring the map, to save having to return later.
- Log into the GoBright portal as an administrator.
- Navigate to Settings > Maps
- Add a new map by clicking the 'Add' button in the top right corner. Give the Map a name.
- Import an SVG map background by selecting the ‘Background’ field box, and use the explorer window to select and import your SVG map. Once imported, select it from the list to apply it to the background.
- Click ‘Add Element’. A set of editor options should appear on the left, and a table symbol will appear on map.
- Use the editor tools to define the icon’s attributes:
- Untick the options Horizontal and Vertical Grid, and Grid Size (this will make positioning easier in the next step)
- Set ‘image’ to the desired symbol. Table, dot or spotlight are recommended for rooms, desk symbol for desks.
- ‘Link to’ the desired room or desk that this icon refers to.
- Drag and drop the icon in place, and use the rotate and scale options to set the icon position correctly.
Save changes once done, and repeat the steps until a map for each floor has been created. When finished, the map and icons should look similar to the below:
Assigning a map to a specific floor in the GoBright portal
- Switch to the New portal view using the toggle in bottom right-hand corner. If the toggle option is not displayed, you can enable it in Settings > General Settings > New portal.
- In the new portal, navigate to Settings > General > Locations
- Select the floor you wish to assign the map to. In the menu, set the map that was created in the previous section.
- Click Save. The map will now be visible in the portal when selecting this floor.
N.B - If a floor has a number of zones set up as sub locations, remember to set this same map to the zones as well, to ensure the same map is displayed in portal when the specific zone is selected.
