Jupiter / Creston Resolution Problem/Fix

This fix was initially a ticket, which made its way into our technical department.

It was raised by Jon Wright on the 13th of November and it involved a Crestron UC-100 Flex unit staying in 21:9 format on a Jupiter Pana 81, Serial Number PANA81D1N8R0016.

The issue was sent over to Creston for analysis, which have tried a number of options, but were unable to come up with a final fix in the end.

Ascentae have attempted to fix the problem remotely, but this was not successful and a site visit was scheduled.

The MTR kept reverting back to 1920 x 1080 and it was not stretching across the whole 21:9 screen.

Although a site visit was scheduled to assist Jon with the problem, another fix came from Jay Paul - Jupiter.

The units have a custom version of the Windows MTR that contain a startup script to enforce a display resolution of 1920x1080.

The documented methods of changing the resolution on Windows for MTR do not work, and this issue is unique to Crestron controllers.

First, the Jupiter must first be updated to the latest firmware.

    • Now grab the remote, go to Advanced OSD menu of the Pana, and select HDMI version.

    • Note that Pana105T/81Ts come with 2 each HDMI inputs so please make sure you first select the input in use and then switch the HDMI version to 1.4 from the factory default of 2.0 for that input:

You will immediately see the Pana flash black and see that the MTR PC auto-negotiated the 2560 x 1080 resolution with the Pana.

As long as the Aspect Ratio is set to “H/V Stretch” under Picture, you will see that the image now fills the screen:
